Specialist workrooms provide students with a good working environment to develop and improve their skills in Graphics, Reisistant Materials (wood and plastics) and Food Technology.
Art, like Design, is concerned with the communication of ideas, in a wide variety of forms including sculpting, ceramics and painting in water colours and oils. This popular subject enables students to initiate and improve their techniques through research and study of artists and sculptors both at school and by visits to the Tate, National and Portrait Galleries for lectures. Music is taught throughout the school and tuition for a wide range of instruments is available.
Sackville's orchestra, choirs and bands perform regularly at concerts, festivals, recitals, church services, parades and receptions.
Drama plays a key part in school life from year 7 to Year 13. It allows students to explore ideas, emotions and roles. It not only builds self assurance and confidence but also provides grat entertainment for participants and audiences alike. There are two major productions a year - one in a local theatre, as well as small soirees throughout the year.
